Did you realize that using LSI keywords is more important than following the keyword density formula to get higher rankings in search engine searches?
In one of our previous articles, we introduced LSI keywords to our readers. As we all know, LSI keywords are an important aspect of on-page SEO. It is a key element in ranking that cannot be ignored.
The biggest problem with LSI keywords is that there aren’t many tools available for researching LSI keywords related to your target keyword.
How to Find LSI Keywords: 3 Best LSI Keyword Generators
1. Google Search
The easiest and most convenient way is to use Google search. Whenever you search for any keyword on Google, it will show more searches related to similar keywords.
Here's an example from a Google search:
When doing this type of search, you should keep an eye out for words in bold in the search results to find LSI keywords. Below is a search result for the keyword “buy books online” which is not listed in the “Related Searches” section but is listed in the regular search results.
This is the easiest and most convenient way to find LSI keywords for your content.
In addition to this idea, I want to share with you some free software that you can use online that will allow you to find LSI keywords related to your target keyword.
2. Semrush SEO Tools
Semrush is probably the most popular SEO tool out there, and it offers a ton of features to help you optimize your content. One of the features called “SEO Content Templates” is really powerful, and it can recommend all the LSI keywords related to your target keyword.
It looks like this:
I searched for LSI keywords for this article using the keyword “find LSI keywords” and it suggested the following semantically related keywords (LSI keywords):
Unlike other LSI keyword generator tools, this one scans the top 10 results for your target keyword and finds the LSI search terms you should use in your article.

3. LSIGraph – Free Online LSI Keyword Generator:
LSIGraph is the newest free SEO tool on the market that generates Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) keywords. It is by far the easiest SEO tool and you can use it easily even without any SEO skills. You just add your target keyword and it will generate related LSI keywords. I will share how to use LSI later in this article, but first let's take a look at a screenshot of LSIGraph:
As you can see in the screenshot above, the tool recommended LSI keywords based on my target keyword. My goal is to use at least a few of the recommended keywords in my article.
Let me share how I use these generated keywords in my blog content:
How to use LSI keywords
LSI keywords and keyword density are two different concepts, but they are closely related. Here’s how I applied this knowledge to help me get 85% of my monthly traffic from search engines:
The first thing you need to prepare is the keywords you want to target in your content. You can use SEMRUSH or the Google Keyword Planner tool to find keywords. (I recommend SEMRUSH because it makes it easy for people with little SEO knowledge to find keywords.)
- Write content naturally: When writing content, focus more on storytelling and writing naturally.
- Optimize content for keywords: Follow the on-page SEO checklist to optimize your posts for your target keywords.
- Add LSI Keywords: Use LSIGraph or Google search to find a list of LSI keywords for your target keyword. Try to place them where they don’t interfere with the natural flow of your content. You don’t need to add all the generated LSI keywords, just the ones that match your article. Sometimes, you may also need to add 1-2 paragraphs to your article to add LSI keywords.
- Use as image alt tags: One of your images should use an alt tag with your primary keyword. The rest of your images can use LSI keywords as alt tags, as long as they are relevant.
- Don’t over-optimize: Now that you know what to do, you should also know what not to do. Don’t try to over-optimize your content for any keyword as this will negatively impact your rankings. You can use a plugin like SEO Writing Assistant to check how well your content is optimized. If you are able to do this naturally, then you don’t need a plugin to monitor and correct any over-optimization.
If you strategically follow the above guidelines and work within the boundaries allowed, your content ranking will improve. There are very few LSI keyword finder tools out there, and Semrush is one of the best I have come across. You can bookmark this tool for quick reference.
