Nowadays, people can easily start a blog and make money from it through various methods .
One of the misconceptions about blogging is that you need to work day and night to make money. If you’re trying to make a name and/or brand yourself, then there is some truth to this.
But if your goal is simply to make money in the short term (but for long-term gains), there are plenty of shortcuts.
Let's look at such a shortcut:
- Micro niche blog.
In this guide, I’ll provide you with a detailed example of a micro-niche blog I created that currently makes $200 per month from Google Ads and an average of over $100 per month from affiliate marketing .
All of this can be accomplished with just a few hours of work.
Update: In 2025, it’s best to use affiliate marketing to make money .
This is a blueprint for creating a micro-niche blog, and you can use it for any topic or niche you like. In my case, I didn’t use a content agency, so I chose a niche that I enjoyed reading and writing about.
This micro blog has made me over $2000 in the past year, and it only took me 40-50 hours of work!
Why create a microblog?
First, with multiple changes to Google’s algorithm, niche websites now rank higher in search engines than non-targeted websites.
If you create a high-quality website on any topic, your chances of ranking higher are greater than any existing authority site.
Also, you don’t have to worry about updating your blog day and night.
Once you have done the hard work of creating your niche website, the next step is to wait for the funds to be deposited into your account.
So let me give you the microblog blueprint that I created.
**Remember: this is **the exact method I followed , and you can follow this blueprint to create your own successful microblog.
The Complete Blueprint for Building a Money Making Niche Website:
1. Choose a niche market and field
The most important thing you need to do is find an area in which you excel .
Make sure to consider the potential commerciality and popularity of your niche.
Since the goal is to make money from your blog using Google Ads, it is important to choose a theme that is popular in countries like the US and the UK and has a high commercial value (high CPC).
In my case, I chose a theme called “Cydia”, which is a jailbreak tool for iOS devices and is very popular among iPhone users. I chose this theme because I am very familiar with it and it has been around for quite a long time. Also, it has a high search rate on Google.
Get information like CPC, Google search rate, popularity, and competition. I used Semrush. However, you can use any other SEO keyword research tool listed here .
Here are some profitable micro-niche blog ideas:
- Lens viewfinder
- Video Editing Hardware
- Wall decoration
- Home Automation
- Best Performance
- productivity
- Mental Health
- addiction
- Yoga
- Air Purifier
- VPN
- Drones
For keyword research, I used SEMrush . I like SEMrush because you just put in the most popular website link in your target niche and it will show you all the keywords that website already ranks for.
The next step is to get a good domain name. Since this is a micro niche site, I recommend including your keywords in the domain name. Make sure it doesn't look spammy and spice it up a bit with words like "guides," "users," "101," etc.
NOTE: I am letting this domain expire as this niche has become outdated.

2. Keyword research and content planning
This is the most fun part, and a little time consuming. But it's worth it in the long run.
I usually recommend using a Google docs spreadsheet to record your research to keep everything organized.
When it comes to content planning, I know a few things I need to do:
- Choose topics that are in long-term demand.
- Design this micro niche site like Wikipedia.
- Choose keywords that can bring traffic and have a high CPC.
Instead of specifically selecting only keywords with high Google Ads CPC, I created a content mind map that was more like a FAQ.
For example:
- What is [topic]?
- How to use/install [theme].
- Advantages and disadvantages of using [theme].
- Important facts about [topic].
These are some basic ideas I start with before doing detailed keyword research.
Then I used SEMrush to find keywords.
- Read this guide to learn how SEMrush can help you find keywords that will bring you more Google Ads revenue.
Next, I selected a few blogs related to my topic and as I mentioned before, I used the same tool (SEMrush) to find the exact keywords that were already driving traffic to these sites.
Note: SEMrush is a paid tool, but you can try SEMrush for free for 14 days ($199 value) using this link .
By the end of this process, I had at least 20+ topic ideas for my micro-niche website!
Next, I spent a few hours a day writing 4-5 blog posts, and then one a day for the next few days.
Within a few days, I had 15 high-quality evergreen posts and my content was ready. (Evergreen posts have a shelf life of 2-3+ years, which means these topics should be relevant for at least the next 2-3 years.)
As I said before, if you are not good at writing, then there is nothing wrong with hiring someone to write for you. Managing a blog is a lot of work, and it is important to make sure that the content you are managing is good.
3. Set up a micro-niche blog
This part of the setup was pretty easy for me. If you know how to create a blog , this step will be easy for you too. Beyond that, your content is the main attraction.
Here is a list of specific tools I used to create and set up my blog :
- **Hosting: **Bluehost – Only $2.95 per month and comes with a free domain name.
- Check out this tutorial to learn how to install WordPress on Bluehost .
- **Themes: **Newspaper theme - plug and play. You can also use Astra or Generatepress themes .
Plugins:
- Yoast SEO is used for website SEO ( click here for a tutorial ). RankMath is also a good choice.
- Jetpack for WordPress has a variety of uses, including social media sharing and dashboard statistics.
- Shortpixels are used for image compression.
- Free Cloudflare is used to optimize speed and provide additional security.
Other steps I followed:
- Follow my WordPress SEO guide
- Extreme focus on content quality and on-page SEO .
- I made some videos on YouTube and linked them to my blog in the description, which generated extra traffic. This also helped me generate backlinks.
- Submit my sitemap to major search engines . (Google, Bing, Baidu, etc.)
- Submit my blog to Web 2.0 + social networking sites . Note: Do not use them to build more than 50 links in a day.
- Create your logo using a free online logo maker. You can hire someone from Fiverr , which usually costs around $10, or use any of the free AI logo makers available.
An optional (but very good) step is:
- Add a Contact page and an About page.
- Configure push notifications for return traffic.
- Start building an email list . You can find a list of the best email marketing services here. Later you can offer them interesting deals related to your industry and earn commissions through affiliate marketing. You can read about affiliate marketing here or buy affiliate marketing books to learn everything about affiliate marketing.
The whole idea of this blog is to create a blog that makes money without doing too much work. Therefore, I didn’t invest too much time in branding. The goal is to get a lot of search engine traffic, provide solutions, and make money quickly from this micro-niche blog.
Here is the traffic report:
I remember that my blog only had 29 articles at the time, and it hadn’t been updated for a month. At this point, I had to prepare more content to attract traffic again.
Here are some things I did and should do if you’re interested in starting a microblog:
Create separate social media pages
Social media profiles are useful in many ways, but I skipped this step because I didn’t want to create new social media assets. That being said, it’s always good to add social media profiles to your website and use social media automation.

Backlink Building and Promotion
I have not built any backlinks other than submitting my site to Web 2.0 and YouTube videos . I have not done any promotion other than regular sharing on social media. All traffic is organic and is entirely due to the SEO setup of the site.
However, this approach may not work for everyone because every niche is different. For some niches, the competition is too fierce and the best way to improve your blog ranking is to generate high-quality backlinks .

Monetization of Micro Niche Websites
For the first few months I only used AdSense, then I added an affiliate product related to the iPhone space, which generated about $100 in additional income per month.
However, if you haven’t gotten AdSense approval yet, then you should use Setupad . Both methods work great if you have traffic from the US or Europe.
Things to consider
With a $160 investment and 40 hours of work, I made over $2000 in a year . My idea is to create more niche blogs like this one to create additional online income streams.
At this point, this micro-niche blueprint is enough for any blogger with some experience to create a money-making website with just a few hours of work.
