For a website, speed is very important.
How quickly your website loads affects everything from your visitors’ user experience to your conversion rate and ultimately how well your site ranks in Google’s organic search results.
Many of us don’t focus on speed when choosing a web hosting company and regret it later because our hosting company plays a big role in the overall loading time of our blog.
All of this adds up to the fact that you need to focus on making sure your WordPress site loads as quickly as possible. A big part of this is installing tools and plugins to help your site load faster.
Choose a fast WordPress web host
But the other part is choosing the fastest WordPress host possible. Optimizing your site certainly helps, but ultimately, your page load times are always going to be limited by the server your WordPress site is hosted on.
So if you’re looking for a place where your WordPress site loads quickly, read this post to learn about the three fastest WordPress hosting providers out there.
1.Kinsta
If you want the absolute fastest WordPress hosting and are willing to pay a premium for it, Kinsta offers the best performing servers and configurations to run fast WordPress sites.
I’ve actually been hosting SidelinePlay on Kinsta for the past two years or so.
If you want to learn more about Kinsta, I recommend reading my full Kinsta review .
Everything at Kinsta is optimized for performance and speed.
First, they use the Google Cloud platform to power your website. That’s right, this means that when you use Kinsta hosting, your website will be running on Google’s infrastructure. And, Google is a big name in the internet world!
But it’s not just about the Google Cloud Platform, Kinsta uses all the right technologies to ensure your WordPress site loads blazingly fast.
This means:
- NGINX – As I told you in the Bluehost section, NGINX performs much better than the slower Apache web server that many shared hosts use.
- PHP 7 – PHP 7 performs significantly better than the older PHP 5.X technology that many shared hosts are still using.
- LXD containers – They can help your website load faster.
- MariaDB – MariaDB performs better than the MySQL database used by many cheap WordPress hosting .
When you put all of these performance-enhancing technologies on the Google Cloud Platform, you get blazingly fast page load times.
Besides performance, Kinsta has a lot of other useful features, which I’ve discussed in my full review:
- User-friendly Admin Dashboard – You get a custom dashboard instead of cPanel.
- Staging site – Create a copy of your site to test changes.
- Great Support – I talked about my positive experience with Kinsta’s support in my review.
- Automatic backups – this will help keep your data safe!
- Free SSL – You can use custom SSL or LetsEncrypt free SSL.
As I said, Kinsta does charge extra for its premium services.
The cheapest plan is $35 per month. You can also upgrade to the next plan at any time with one click.
2. ServeBolt
ServeBolt is designed for high-performance WordPress sites that demand speed. It is a great fit for high-end WordPress sites, including those using WooCommerce.

3. Bluehost Optimized WordPress Hosting
While I recommend Bluehost’s shared hosting for beginners because of its affordable prices, if you’re looking for faster page loading times, it’s better to go for Bluehost’s optimized WordPress hosting.
Although it’s a bit more expensive than Bluehost’s shared hosting plans, you get a lot of features that can make your WordPress site load faster.
Let’s first look at the main reasons why your website will load faster on Bluehost’s WordPress hosting:
- Bluehost's WordPress hosting uses VPS technology.
This means you have all the server resources to yourself. With shared hosting, your server resources are shared by all the websites on that server. But with VPS technology, you don't have to share, which means your website won't be slowed down by other people's operations.
But that’s not the only improvement…
Bluehost’s WordPress hosting also uses NGINX server, while their shared hosting uses Apache server. NGINX significantly outperforms Apache, especially for high-traffic websites. In this test, NGINX outperformed Apache by an average of 4.2 times.
Other benefits of choosing Bluehost for WordPress hosting include:
- Integrate SiteLock feature to protect your website.
- If you need to scale your servers quickly to handle more traffic, you'll need dynamic upgrades.
- Automatic backups and dedicated backup storage.
- Free SSL certificate.
As I said, you’ll pay more than you would for shared hosting with Bluehost, but it’s still a pretty good option if you’re looking for the fastest WordPress hosting:
WordPress hosting from Bluehost starts at $19.99 per month and goes up gradually from there.

4. SiteGround
SiteGround offers performance-oriented WordPress hosting with pricing that’s more in line with Bluehost’s than Kinsta’s.
Unlike the other two hosts, SiteGround’s WordPress hosting is shared hosting. While that alone doesn’t make it a great choice for performance, it does include a ton of high-performance technology that most other hosts don’t offer.
Such as:
- HTTP/2 – HTTP/2 performs better than the older HTTP technology used by many shared hosts. Additionally, SiteGround offers a free SSL certificate, which allows you to use HTTP/2 at no extra cost.
- PHP 7.x – As I mentioned before, PHP 7 performs much better than the older PHP 5.X technology that many shared hosts use.
- SSD storage – offers a huge performance boost over older physical drives.
On higher-tier plans, you’ll also benefit from SiteGround’s three-level server-side caching to further improve your site’s performance.
In addition to these performance features, SiteGround also offers you:
- Automatic updates.
- Staging site (at the highest level).
- Automatic core WordPress updates.
- Get a free SSL certificate from Let's Encrypt.
- Account isolation to protect your website.
- Helpful support is available 24/7.
While SiteGround doesn’t use NGINX like the other two hosts, it’s still one of the fastest WordPress hosting providers you’ll find in this price range.
Which fastest WordPress host should you choose?
All three of these hosts offer fast page load times and great performance, so I think your choice should mainly come down to price.
If you’re just starting out and aren’t ready to shell out $100+ per month for WordPress hosting, SiteGround might be a good choice. While I can’t guarantee that their speeds are as fast as Kinsta’s, both are great value for money .
On the other hand, if you want the absolute fastest WordPress hosting, and are willing to pay for it, then I think you should go with Kinsta because of its great performance and great customer support. I host SidelinePlay here.
