#2 Clickability
To encourage Pinterest users to click on your pins and take further steps to interact with your business, your pins must be clickable. This means you need to include elements that drive user action.
Add a caption that tells users your pin chart solves a problem. For example, in the pin chart I shared above, I provided 30 days of content suggestions. This pin chart provides a resource for business owners unsure of what to share or say on social media.
Add a call to action to clearly tell your audience what to do next. Encourage them to click to learn more, visit your website, or download the content you provide.
3# Use high-quality visual effects
Pinterest is a highly visual platform, and the success of your pin depends on the quality of its design. In a sea of similar or competing pins, making your pin stand out is crucial. Professional design is the best way to ensure your pin is eye-catching.

4# Optimize the platform
Optimizing your image design is crucial for achieving the best results on any platform, and Pinterest is no exception. Pinterest pins have unique sizes and dimensions. Ensure your pins are designed correctly so they display fully and your audience can see them and their elements.
Pin images come in several formats: Best Format, Long Format, and Infographic. See the Infographic below for instructions on how to properly resize each format.
Common characteristics of successful pins
- The images are consistently high quality and free of pixelation.
- The image is vertical, with an aspect ratio of 2:3 or 4:5.
- Pin descriptions with a length between 100 and 200 characters were forwarded the most.
- Pins with prices will get more likes. The best way is to enable the "Rich Pin" feature on your website.
- Pins without profile pictures were repinned 23% more frequently.
- Images with multiple primary colors are re-fixed more often than images with a single primary color.
- Red, orange, and brown images were forwarded approximately twice as often as blue images.
- Tutorials, guides, and DIY pins get more clicks than other pins.
- Infographics receive three times more likes and shares on social media than other content.
- The most common words on popular pins (in order) are: make, one, easy, recipe, free, chicken, paleo, love, and great.
Some tips for creating pins
- Design the image to be 735px wide. Height is unlimited, but the optimal aspect ratio is 2:3.
- Include your URL at the bottom of your pin to help people access your website directly and prevent your images from being stolen.
- Consider colors, images, layouts, and text based on popular content on Pinterest (you can refer to my list above).

- Add some text to the image so that even without a description, it's clear what your pin contains (some descriptions are hidden on mobile devices, so it's worth remembering this).

#1 – Keywords
Keywords are very important on Pinterest, but first you need to know where to use them. Keywords are used in the following places:
- pin title
- pin description
- Board Name
- Board Description
- Hyperlink page title, description
- Keyword on the PIN image
1. Pin title
Pin titles are very important because whether a pin title contains keywords is a significant factor affecting ranking when users search on Pinterest.
The way to write the title is actually based on Google SEO principles. Below, I will explain in detail how to write the title of a pin.
What is the pin header?
When you upload an image, you are prompted to enter a title, which has a limit of 100 characters. The first 30 characters are usually displayed below your image, and the full title will only be displayed when the user clicks "view more".
We know that Pinterest images are displayed in a waterfall layout. To find the images you want to see among hundreds of millions of images, you definitely need to use Pinterest's search box. When a user enters search keywords, Pinterest will first retrieve images whose titles contain those keywords. Therefore, many people who don't write any titles for their pins or write random titles are wasting a huge amount of Pinterest's internal search traffic.
2. Do not repeat.
Many people have titles and descriptions that are exactly the same, which is duplication. You can see the example in the image below. I personally do not recommend that the title and description be exactly the same, as this is essentially a waste of the purpose of the description.
3. Search box
The simplest way is to enter your keywords in the Pinterest search box. For example, I entered "couple rings" here. You can see some related, popular keywords in the drop-down list. You can choose from these keywords that match your product.
4. Recommended Keywords
Let's take "couple rings" as an example again. We can see some recommended keywords below the search box. These keywords are divided according to the color, shape, material, etc. of "couple rings". We can also refine the title based on these recommended keywords.
For example, if you search for "skull rings," you'll see that almost every pin title contains "skull rings." Some images don't have "skull rings" because Pinterest AI intelligently determines what the product in the image actually is.
2. Keywords in the pin description
Many people think that descriptions are unimportant, but good descriptions can greatly increase the chances of users clicking on images and redirecting to your website. Similarly, high click-through rates for images will also improve your Pinterest ranking.
When it comes to the description, it's important to note that it's best not to make it exactly the same as the title (although sometimes you'll find that pins with the same title and description rank very well), so pin ranking can be really hard to summarize.
For example, if you are selling rings, you can use keywords related to rings in the title, and in the description you can write the price, the material of the ring, etc.
I randomly picked a pin and clicked on it. As you can see in the image above, the title and description are completely different, but they both contain the keyword "skull ring." This is something to emphasize. A good description serves two purposes: 1. Improve pin ranking; 2. Attract users to click on the image and enter your website.
3. Board Name
When creating a Board, we should also pay attention to the name. It's best to fill in some precise keywords. For example, if you plan to create a Board that contains only "skull rings", then you can name the Board "Skull rings". This is very simple, and most people would write it like this, so I won't go into details.
4. The page title and description of the pin hyperlink.
Pinterest's web crawlers now access your webpages through your pin hyperlinks to check what your pages are about.
Here's an example: if your pin title is "skull rings" but the linked webpage product title is "couple rings", Pinterest will consider it misleading and deceiving users, and your pin won't rank well.
Therefore, the title of the pin should ideally be similar to the title and description of the linked webpage, both revolving around the same keyword.
5. Pin keywords on the image
As you can see in the image above, the title of the pin and the keywords on the pin are the same. This example tells us that if you want to put text on your pin, it's best to include keywords as well, because the Pinterest system has the ability to recognize the text on your images.
However, I personally feel that this is not particularly important. If you plan to put text on the image, then you can give it a try.
6. Pinterest Visual Content Requirements
As a visual discovery platform, Pinterest's content optimization begins with images:
- Optimal size: A vertical pin with an aspect ratio of 2:3 (1000x1500px) usually works best, maximizing the use of screen space on mobile devices.
- Visual clarity: Clear, high-quality images that convey the core concept even at thumbnail size.
- Color psychology: Pins in a primary color that aligns with your brand and seasonal theme tend to stand out.
- Text overlay: Strategic text on images can increase engagement, but for readability, it should be limited to 1-2 lines.
- Brand elements: Subtle yet consistent branding helps users gain recognition when they repeatedly encounter your content.

7. Pinterest Text Optimization Techniques
While visuals dominate, text elements are also crucial for Pinterest's searchability:
- Pin Title: Add relevant keywords before the title. The shorter the title, the better. Titles are typically limited to the first 35-45 characters; a large study showed that 60% of popular pin titles are no more than 25 characters long.
- Description: Using natural language and relevant keywords, highlight the advantages and applications, rather than technical details.
- Alternative text: Includes descriptive keywords while maintaining accessibility for visually impaired users.
- Forum organization: Creating topic-specific forums with rich keyword titles and descriptions.
- Fresh content: Regularly uploading new content indicates relevance to the Pinterest algorithm.
Keywords on Pinterest should capture people's desires and inspire them. Instead of describing it as "blue cotton shirt," use "relaxed summer style for a beach vacation."
#2 – Interest
Many people may not know the meaning of "interests". Here, you'll need to use the tool Tailwind app. When you upload a pin image, this tool can automatically detect the objects in your image and then list some related interests and hobbies for recommendation, for example:

Regarding this technique, I personally feel that it is somewhat useful, but it is too troublesome, and its effectiveness is not particularly obvious.
#3 – Tag
We all know that hashtags are crucial for driving traffic to Instagram, but how do they help with ranking on Pinterest?
Let's look at a real-world example. When you type "skull rings" into the search box, you'll find that almost no one uses the # symbol in the pin descriptions, and the pins show the most recent and popular ones. This indicates that the # symbol doesn't have a significant effect on ranking.
When you enter "#skull rings" in the search box, the pin images that appear are sorted by time, and are mostly released in the last few days.
In summary, tags don't seem very useful because Pinterest itself doesn't offer browsing filters, such as "most popular," "newest," etc.
How to achieve the best ranking
Our most important goal is to get a better ranking for our pins. Based on experience, I believe that pin ranking is directly related to the following three factors:
- Text relevance – the pin's title, description, and text above the image.
- Consistency – Does the pin diagram maintain consistency with the content of the hyperlinked web pages?
- The level of interaction/popularity of the pin.
- Pinterest ranking factors – text relevance
As we mentioned earlier, the titles and descriptions of pin images do not contain keywords, which has a very direct and important impact on the pin's ranking.

It's important to ensure consistency between your pin image and the webpage it links to. For example, if your pin image shows a ring, but the link leads to a webpage about bracelets, your pin is unlikely to get good rankings and exposure.
Pin participation and popularity
Clicks, comments, and shares are all factored into the ranking system. A pin with high engagement will rank better, so use Pinterest Audience Insights to understand what your audience is interested in.
How to conduct keyword research on Pinterest
I've discussed Pinterest keyword research in previous Pinterest posts. Currently, the most important and direct method is to directly enter keywords into the search box and then use the dropdown suggestions to get related keyword recommendations.
You can also see that Pinterest will recommend some keywords below the search box. You can continue to click on each colored box to get more and more specific suggestions.
Then it's a process of repeated operations until you finally collect and compile a complete list of keywords related to your product.
Of course, you can also use keyword research tools such as Google Keyword Planner to collect keywords, which can also lead to some good discoveries.
Pinterest's requirements for your website
Pinterest wants to provide pins that deliver high-quality content. Besides the obvious requirement of having useful (well-written) content, it must also be engaging and inspiring. You should also make sure to verify your website with Pinterest. This way, Pinterest can verify that you are the owner of the content shared on that site.
Similar to Google search, Pinterest's ranking system is fundamentally about displaying images users are likely to like. Google search works the same way, showing users the web pages they most want to see. Whether you're a large or small website, an established or new Pinterest account, as long as your pins are attractive, you can get more traffic. (Speaking of which, I really have to complain about Baidu search in China—it's a complete mess!)
Building on this, it's best to ensure that you use Rich Pins on your site to provide more context for the Pins.
How can I improve my post ranking on Pinterest?
Follow these steps to optimize everything from keywords to pin design in a conversational yet professional manner.
Step 1: Pinterest Keyword Research
Like traditional SEO, every strong Pinterest SEO strategy begins with keyword research. But finding keywords on Pinterest is slightly different because it's a visualization platform.
Your goal is simple. You want to understand what people are actually searching for so you can use those words in the pin chart's title, description, board name, and even the pin chart image itself.
The easiest way to get started is to use the Pinterest search bar. Enter a keyword related to your niche market, and you'll get automatic suggestions.
For example, if you enter "family office", you might get "family office setup ideas" or "family office organization".
The autocomplete feature displays the exact phrase the user enters, providing the perfect seed for your pin title, description, and board name.
These suggestions come from real searches on Pinterest. Therefore, they are very valuable to your content.
Pinterest Trends is another useful tool. It shows the search frequency of a keyword over a period of time and helps you identify seasonal peaks or trending topics. If you plan your content weeks or months in advance, this tool can help you stay ahead of the curve.
Pinterest Trends lets you check how keyword interest rises or falls over time, making it perfect for incorporating seasonal or emerging themes into your Pinning plan.
You can also use Tailwind's keyword finder. Tailwind is a partner tool of Pinterest that provides a list of relevant keywords based on what you enter.
You can enter a word or your website URL to see which Pinterest keywords are most popular. This is a great way to discover keyword variations or angles you haven't considered before.
Tailwind tools recommend relevant Pinterest keywords and show their weekly and monthly search volume growth, helping you discover new angles for PIN optimization.
If you have a Pinterest business account, the built-in Pinterest Analytics (or Pinterest Ads) will show which pins received the most impressions. You can use it to find out which keywords have been effective for your brand.

Your Pinterest profile is the foundation of Pinterest SEO.
This is one of the places Pinterest first learns who you are and what type of content you offer.
A well-optimized profile and a well-organized Pinterest board can significantly impact how often your pin appears in search results.
Start with your profile name and personal bio. These fields should include relevant keywords.
Use your brand name, but if possible, it's best to incorporate it into your core theme. For example, instead of just using "AcmeCrafts," try "AcmeCraftsDIY" or "Acme Crafts - DIY Home Decor Ideas." This helps Pinterest quickly connect your profile to a specific niche.
The account name pairs the brand with its niche (“DIY crafts”), and the bio repeats DIY-related keywords, helping Pinterest categorize the profile immediately.
Your profile or "About You" section is another opportunity to highlight your account content.
Describe your work in a concise and natural way, including some keywords. For example, "Blogger shares simple recipes and healthy eating ideas. Passionate about cooking, food preparation, and everything food-related." This will help Pinterest and users clearly understand the focus of your content.
The profile description clearly illustrates the niche, the vibrant art, design and fashion, so Pinterest (and its visitors) can immediately know what to expect.
Sections are equally important. Think of them as content categories. Each section should focus on a clear theme, and the title should include keywords that people are actually searching for.
A bulletin board titled "Healthy Dinner Recipes" is more effective than vague bulletin boards like "My Favorites".
Each chart also includes a description field. You can use one or two sentences to explain the type of pin chart you saved.
Again, emphasize adding keywords naturally. This helps Pinterest understand your content and match it with the right searches.
You can manually reorder your boards, moving the most important or best-performing boards to the top of your profile. This helps users and Pinterest understand your profile.

Pinterest uses a vertical scrolling layout, so vertical images always look better. The optimal aspect ratio is 2:3, typically 1000px x 1500px. This will ensure your pin images are clearly visible on both mobile and desktop devices.
To make your pin image stand out, use bright or high-contrast colors, clear images, and eye-catching, legible text. Avoid visual clutter.

A good example is that Pin's image has a clear title, and the descriptive copy contains keywords such as "keyword research tool".

You can use up to 500 characters, but you don't have to use every single word. A concise, customer-centric description works best.
For example, you could say: "Find some step-by-step instructions on how to create a lush potted garden even in a small space. These tips cover soil, plant selection, and layout to help you create a beautiful mini garden. Click to see the full guide!"
If you're still wondering, "Does Pinterest use hashtags for SEO?", yes.
Pin pairs a keyword-rich title with the graphic and Pin title fields, then supports it with a repeated description of "digital planner" and ends with some niche hashtags, making it perfect for Pinterest's search and smart feed.
Pinterest allows the use of hashtags, which helps categorize content and increase visibility. Adding one or two hashtags (such as #SpringDecor or #DIYtutorial) to the end of your content description can boost visibility, especially in seasonal or event-related searches. Just keep your goals clear.
Avoid using too many irrelevant or overly broad hashtags in your description.

Rich Pins is one of Pinterest's most underrated SEO features.
They extract additional metadata from your website and display it directly on your Pin, making it more informative, professional, and more likely to get clicks.
Rich Pin comes in three types: articles, products, and recipes.
When you link to a blog post or article, the article Rich Pin will automatically display the title, author, and a brief description below the image.
The Rich Pin feature goes a step further, displaying real-time pricing, availability, and product titles to help drive conversions.
Pins offer a wealth of recipes, including ingredients, cooking time, and portion sizes, providing users with more upfront value and making it easier for Pinterest to properly categorize content.
The recipe library features a rich selection of pins that directly display key information (ingredients, cooking time, serving size).
Using rich pins allows your content to stand out in a dynamic environment. They include eye-catching headlines and additional contextual information, helping users understand what your pin offers without needing to click. This extra clarity helps build trust.
Setting Rich Pins is a one-time process.
First, your website needs to have Open Graph or Schema tags that Pinterest can crawl. If you're using WordPress, plugins like Yoast SEO, or Pinterest-specific plugins can help you add metadata to posts, products, or recipes.
Next, go to your Pinterest account settings, find the "Publications" section, and claim ownership of your website. You'll need to verify ownership by uploading an HTML file or adding a meta tag to the header.
Once Pinterest confirms ownership, your pin will automatically start displaying Rich Pin data when it is pulled from your domain.
You can verify that it's working correctly by checking the newly published article PIN. You should see a bold title, the source website, and a short piece of additional information below the images; you don't need to manually enter this data in the PIN description.

Consistency is key to Pinterest SEO best practices:
If you want to establish authority and maintain visibility in your smart feed, you need to post Pin images regularly and purposefully. Sporadic posts will not achieve the desired effect.
Don't upload 50 pins a day and then remain silent for a week; maintain a stable daily rhythm. Pinterest's algorithm favors creators who consistently publish content.
A good starting point is to post 5 to 15 pins per day, at the optimal time. You can adjust this based on your workflow and results, but the key is to show Pinterest that you are consistently active.
Timing is also important.
Pinterest users are typically most engaged in the evenings and on weekends. Research shows that user engagement is highest on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and this high engagement continues into Mondays and Tuesdays. In terms of time, 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. (depending on the audience's time zone) is usually the optimal time for exposure and savings.
Pinterest also prioritizes fresh content, such as new URLs, new images, and new pin designs. However, this doesn't mean you need to constantly publish entirely new blog posts. You can select your best-performing articles or products and create new pins for them using different visuals or text overlays. Each variation counts as a new pin, thus increasing reach.
A strong strategy is to design multiple pins for each piece of content and release them over time to maintain a stable presence.
Consistent engagement lets Pinterest know you're a reliable source of new ideas.
Over time, this reliability will translate into greater reach, higher visibility, and increased engagement in search and content display.
5 Tips to Improve Your Pinterest Inspiration Finding Efficiency
First trick: Keyword search method
Pinterest recommends using English for searching, and you need to choose the right words. Sometimes you might encounter synonyms and need to use a different word, otherwise you might not find what you want. My own search method is to use multiple keywords to filter. When I like to find Japanese-style banners for inspiration, I use keyword combinations like "banner + design + japan" to search, and I can usually find the content I need.
Use "banner design japan" as the search keyword.
Because of usage volume, searching in English will yield more results. However, if you want to search for designs related to Chinese characters, you can use traditional or simplified Chinese characters to search for more accurate results. The same applies to searching in Japanese or Korean.

Second trick: Organize your inspiration using a chart
Pinterest is like a DIY inspiration scrapbook. Whenever I see something I like, I can piece it together and save it to become my own source of inspiration. The most convenient thing is that it can be used across devices. Sometimes I browse it during my commute and piece together the pictures I like. When I need inspiration for designing images on the computer, I can open it and see them. It's great.
As for how to organize pinned images, I categorize them by different projects. My categorization logic is based on purpose, style, or project, which makes it easier to find the images I need and that are helpful.

Fifth trick: Track other people's images
Many designers and creators use Pinterest as a tool for organizing inspiration, and most of them don't set it to public (the default pins are public). So we can follow the images by searching for keywords or finding our favorite design categories or designers, and thus have access to a group of talented designers who can help us with inspiration.
I set my search filter to "images" and searched for results related to "Banner Design".
Quickly expand your audience by creating content on Pinterest
- Follow your competitors' fans
To put it simply, it's about stealing followers. Your competitors' followers are your potential followers. You can find your competitors on Pinterest, find their followers, and then click to follow them! Currently, Pinterest doesn't really limit the number of times you can follow someone per day, but it's not recommended to do it too frequently, or your account will be banned.
- Find long-tail keywords
When you upload images, pay special attention to the title and description, especially the title. Be sure to include long-tail keywords. You can find long-tail keywords by entering them in the Pinterest search box and looking at the dropdown menu. You'll see many popular long-tail keyword suggestions. Of course, you don't have to write exactly according to the suggestions, but you should definitely have this mindset regarding long-tail keywords.
- Promote using Pinterest ads
You need to create a business Pinterest account first; you can find it by clicking the top right corner.
The advantage of a business account is that you can view the statistics of your own posts and also place ads.
Pinterest offers good value for money advertising. You can choose to run ads on sections of interest or target ads based on keywords. The cost is based on CPC (cost per click).
If your images are unique enough, you can quickly gain a lot of exposure and followers by using advertising.
- Fill in the Pinterest hashtags
This is something many people overlook. When using Instagram, people often use hashtags (#), typing # followed by keywords. While hashtags on Pinterest aren't as important as on Instagram, they're still better than nothing. Let's look at some excellent examples of Pinterest images.
- Add group members
In the group you create, you'll see an "invite" option on the right. This allows you to invite others to join your group, which is currently the fastest way to gain followers on Pinterest. Simply enter keywords in the search box below, and you can continuously invite others. However, the challenge lies in inviting people who are interested in your product; this requires a bit of thought and effort.
- Infographics
Have you noticed how popular these kinds of infographics are on Pinterest? They have a high chance of going viral, and authoritative statistics show that infographics can increase readership by at least 300%.
Here are a few tools I recommend for creating infographics.
Canva – This is a free tool that we usually use to create posters, but it also has pre-set infographic templates. You just need to manually fill in some text, which is great.
Venngage – This tool is specifically designed to help you create infographics. It includes a large number of templates and has a free plan to get you started.
Fiverr is an outsourcing platform where you can outsource almost any job you can think of, such as writing articles, website building, translation, design, and of course, infographics. The fee is generally between $5 and $20.
- Complete your personal profile
Ideally, your account name should be the name of your shop or brand, as this helps promote your shop or brand. Then, you need to link your website to your Pinterest account in the settings so that users can directly click through to your website when browsing your images. This is the most basic requirement.
- Marketing tools
Some essential marketing tools are still necessary. Good tools can improve efficiency and achieve twice the results with half the effort. Here are some recommendations:

Social Snap: This allows users to share your Pinterest images to various other social media platforms, which is a pretty good addition.
- Delete images that don't look good.
Don't hesitate to delete images with low click-through rates or few views, because based on observations, this will lower the ranking of your other images. Pinterest's ranking mechanism is very unique, influenced by many factors.
You can use two methods to find poorly performing images:
- In the backend of a commercial Pinterest account, you can clearly see how each image is performing.
- Using TailWind's Pin Inspector feature, you can also see detailed data such as the number of clicks and click-through rate for each image.
Join someone else's board
In fact, besides the model of creating your own account to post, there is another model that is overlooked by the vast majority of people, which is to join someone else's board and apply to join in order to maintain it together.
Here, we'll demonstrate the specific steps using the keyword "Yoga".
First, search for keywords in the search box, and then use the filter function on the left to filter out the information you need. You can then see all the boards (post collections) related to "yoga" in the content section.
Screening and application to join the Board
The next step is naturally to screen these boards to see if they allow applications for co-editing.
For example, if you look at the Board in the image below, there is a "Join" button where the red arrow points. We can then apply for joint editing and wait for the other party to approve it.
Increase the approval rate
As for the success rate of approval, there are some nuances. One common approach is to carefully curate your account, showcasing professionalism through your content. For example, using "yoga" as an example, you can initially publish related content to establish the account's foundation.
By the way, these collaborative editing requests can also be used to avoid account bans. The basic operating logic is the "parent-child account" model, which I won't go into detail here.
How to drive traffic using images and inspiration
From a marketing perspective, you might find it difficult to understand how to count the number of thumbtacks and how to convert them into traffic, so let me give you a brief overview.
You post an image to your board, where others can browse, see what they like, and then like or pin it to their own board. The image links to the webpage where you pinned it, and most people will click on it and read the post. If the image is an infographic, and all the information they need is on Pinterest, then they probably won't bother with it too much. Leave a little space (although Pinterest does shrink long images quite a bit when you click on them).
Let's say I pin a post to my board, and it gets retweeted 10 times. That counts as my post being retweeted 10 times. If someone extracts a post from my board and retweets it again, that doesn't count towards my total retweets because it was pinned from another source.
Let me give you an example.
Randomly selecting a board, I found a pin that had been shared 7 times. If I looked at who shared my pin, I found that most pins only got a few likes and shares. Except for one. One of those pins got 26 likes and 103 shares. I could keep looking to see how many times it was shared, but I think you get the idea. It could spread like wildfire.
You don't want to be a bad Pinterest user, and using Pinterest effectively isn't difficult, so follow these rules:
- Don't just focus on yourself. Avoid constant self-promotion (like spam?). Try to post half your content on your main page, half on your own posts, and half on other people's posts. Your followers will appreciate it, and you'll see more people paying attention to you.
- Source attribution. This means instead of putting a nice infographic on your website and then linking back to the source (on your page), you should pin the page to the top. That's unfair; people actually want to see the source.
- Pin it to the correct drawing board. Don't stick the floor plan on the photographic board. Like? Yes. Pin it in the right place? No.
- Write a description. Sometimes pictures can't tell us much; a few words can entice people to click on these links!
- Don't pin all your posts at once. This is fine if you're a new user, but you definitely don't want to generate too much traffic for your followers. I currently pin 1-5 times a day.
- When you see something you like, you like it.
How to effectively pin
I believe you've already realized that there are tons of images on Pinterest. You might think you don't like using images much, so this doesn't apply to you, but that's not true. Even just an image with some nice text, including your post title, is enough to get you saved.
But how can we best leverage images to our advantage?

There are a few things you need to keep in mind. First, when we talk about the visual quality of a piece (like what we look at first and what we look at the longest), text ranks quite highly because we're so used to reading text. Add text to all your images to let your followers know the theme of the picture.
You'll also notice that Pinterest has a maximum width for images, but no maximum length. This means you can increase your Pinterest visibility by creating long images and pinning them to the top of your feed. Take a look at these images below.
Spend a few more minutes adding all the photos to one image and then pinning it. Trust me, it works much better.
You can also consider adding watermarks to your images. For example, add your website URL or your Pinterest name; branding your images is a good idea.
Description and Price
Even if your image has text, your description is still important. People can search for pin images, and you want your pin images to appear in search results. Make sure you have comprehensive coverage.
If you're marketing products on Pinterest, adding a price to your product description is a great idea. Why? Not only is it important for your product description, but Pinterest will also thoughtfully add a price banner to your pin so everyone can easily see the price of your item.
Become the preferred board of directors
If you only post your own content, people will think you're advertising. If you post diverse and engaging content, covering the most exciting topics on the internet, you'll attract more followers because people will perceive you as a very strict administrator of the forum. This way, you can post your own content and reach a wider audience.
How to find fans
I'll start with the most obvious one, because it's often overlooked. Promote your page through your other social media accounts. Post on Twitter, Facebook, and Google+ to let people know you want to see their page, and also tell them about yours. Promoting social media accounts is no different from promoting a website.
Great, now let's look at the specific ways to promote yourself on Pinterest. If you're familiar with Twitter marketing, this is similar.
First, make sure you've created at least two boards, then find other people posting similar content. Use the search bar to enter your topic (for example, I entered "photography tutorials"). Then, in the top left corner of the page, you'll see an option to choose between pins, boards, and people. Select a board.
Without even clicking on any sections, I can see my nine tutorials pinned to three of the top ten sections. Am I doing something?
First, follow about 100 such subreddits. This will give you followers, but you can do more. Go back to all those subreddits and like 3-5 posts. Quickly browse through the best-looking content and click "like." I do this with all the subreddits I follow because your notifications take up a lot of space, so they're more likely to see your profile.
Finding your first group of followers is very important, so don't skip this step.
For example, if I click on the first pop-up section, they have already pinned 36 of my posts, which have been shared a total of 498 times. And they all come from the same section.
How to find inspiration on Pinterest?
1. Know what to type in Pinterest.
Think of Pinterest as a search engine; enter what you would type into Google. Try using synonyms and specific words.
Identify the keywords that will bring you the results you want. Because Pinterest's algorithm is often used in the fashion industry, its search results are very precise. If you want to see medium or plus-size models, enter the relevant keywords.
Use the skin tone filter. If you want to sew a red dress and want to see how it would look on someone with the same skin tone as you, you can use the filter function. It can help you explore what colors of clothing you like to wear.
2. Once you start finding results you like, go down the rabbit hole.
If you click on or save an image you like, Pinterest immediately adds similar images to your feed. Training this algorithm is easier than most.
So, if you find something you like, feel free to click and view related images. Pinning your favorite things to a pin can train the algorithm to display what you actually want to see.
Delving into Pinterest's "rabbit hole" is itself an inspiring experience. So don't be afraid to keep clicking.
3. Consider issues beyond clothing.
If your feed of clothing-themed information is overwhelming and you're starting to get too many ads, look at other textile arts.
Drawings can really help you create atmosphere on your mood board, so save some drawings that capture the feeling you want.
Graphic design, in particular, requires careful attention to color coordination. Take a look at the logos, packaging, and portfolios of your favorite graphic designers.
Look at the blankets and find a suitable color scheme. Then look at your favorite scenery, find some evocative images, and string all the elements together.
4. The clothing should be special.
Pinterest excels at turning clothing descriptions into images. So, if you like wearing brown plaid blazers, you can search for "brown plaid blazer outfit inspiration," and the algorithm will give you plenty of ideas.
You can even create boards themed around some of your favorite outfits and continuously build clothing formulas around them.
When searching for colors, outlines, details, or even certain styles (such as classic, understated, or sporty), try to be very specific.
5. Clear your mind of inspiration, get rid of what you don't like, and rediscover what you used to like.
Pinterest requires some maintenance so you don't get overwhelmed by images over the years. If you clean up your boards annually, they're more likely to accurately reflect your current style.
