One of the quickest and easiest ways to install WordPress on your hosting account is to use QuickInstall from Mojo Marketplace. It makes the installation process easy and you’ll have a WordPress blog up and running in just minutes.

In this WordPress installation guide, we will be installing WordPress using the QuickInstall method on HostGator.
This is one of the easiest ways to get started with WordPress and you can launch your WordPress website in just 5 minutes**. Please follow this guide and feel free to ask any questions you have:
Log in to your HostGator web panel. Under "Services/Software", click "QuickInstall".
On the quick install page, you need to select "WordPress" on the left. In 2025, HostGator also offers some services that require a lot of installation and theme setup. I recommend skipping that option and just following this guide to set up everything yourself. (It's easy and doesn't take much time)
On the next page, use the drop-down menu to select the domain where you want to install your WordPress blog.
Here you can decide where to install WordPress. It can be the root directory or a subdomain. For example:
- Root directory: https://www.sidelineplay.com
- Subdirectory: https://www.sidelineplay.com/blog
If you are new to HostGator and have a Small plan or higher, you can add as many domain names as you want and can host multiple websites on a single hosting package .
Click Next, and then configure the remaining settings as directed below.
Please make sure not to use "admin" as your username as this is a security risk. Please use your email address or nickname instead.
The key is to make it hard to guess. Double-check that you did everything correctly before you click that magic “Install WordPress” button. Otherwise, rolling back the process will be a waste of time.

When HostGator Quick Install sets up your WordPress blog, it may try to sell you something by offering things like WordPress themes or any such services.
I recommend you skip this step, as I did. Installing your own WordPress is easy. In just a few minutes, your WordPress blog will be installed, and you will receive an email with a link to your dashboard, username, and password.
On HostGator servers, you can access your WordPress dashboard at "domain.com/wp-admin" (replace domain.com with your actual domain name)
Be sure to add your email address here. This way, installation information will be sent to your email blog.
