Post Planner Review: An Upgraded Facebook Marketing App

Forrest Pykes May 1, 2025

Facebook has been one of the top free tools used by online marketers and brand managers to drive traffic and increase brand awareness. From a blogger’s perspective, Facebook is one of the most convenient ways to connect and interact with your readers.

I use Facebook as my primary social media channel to connect with other people. To assist me, I use various Facebook tools and apps.

Today I will be reviewing the Post Planner app for Facebook which is the perfect marketing tool for your Facebook page.

I switched from PostRocket to Post Planner for three simple reasons:

  • Price: PostRocket is more expensive than Post Planner, which makes it more budget-friendly, especially for those who manage multiple pages.
  • Features: Post Planner has tons of features that can be a real time saver.
  • Use directly from Facebook: The Post Planner app interface is accessible directly from Facebook. You don't need to log into any third-party sites, which again saves time.

Let's look at what makes Post Planner my new Facebook management app:

Post Planner App: Facebook Automation and Marketing Tool

Post Planner is a Facebook app that helps page and group administrators automate their Facebook resources. It has a lot of useful features to help users maximize their Facebook marketing efforts.

Before we dive into some of Post Planner's most notable features, let's take a look at a quick list of features of this useful Facebook app:

  • Post Queue: You can set posting times and add status updates to a queue. You can easily automate a month's worth of work on your Facebook page in just two hours.
  • Targeting: This is one of the most notable features of this app. In addition to queueing posts, you can also set a target audience for your posts. For example, you can target audiences in a specific country when scheduling or queuing a post.
  • Post the link as an image: On Facebook, images work better than direct links, and you can post the link of your post as an image with just one click. This not only increases the visibility of the link, but also increases the click-through rate.
  • RSS Feed Automation: You can automatically post content through your RSS feed. This is convenient, but for some reason I prefer manual posting to automatic posting. It would be better to link your RSS feed to the Pocket app's RSS feed and use it to share your best content.
  • Status Idea Engine: Status Idea Engine will help you post updates quickly using Post Planner status ideas. There are unlimited questions and status ideas for you to use. The best part is, it helps you increase engagement and communication, which can lead to more Likes. It's the perfect way to surpass Facebook EdgeRank!
  • Popular Content: This feature allows you to find the most popular content on the web based on any keyword. This is very helpful for finding readable content on your pages and groups.
  • Post to Lists: If you manage multiple pages or groups and want to share the same content on all of them, you can use this feature of the Post Planner to do so. Simply create different lists and share the same content on all of them. You can also manually share the same content on as many pages or groups as you want and then post it to the groups you've joined.

These are just some of the many features the app offers.

Now let me explain some of these features with the help of screenshots.

Facebook Status Creative Engine:

One of the main issues with Facebook Pages right now is engagement ( Facebook EdgeRank ). To ensure that everyone sees your status updates, you need to craft some very engaging status updates that encourage user interaction in the form of “likes” and comments.

Post Planner's Status Ideas are designed to solve this problem. This feature is designed to outperform the Facebook EdgeRank algorithm. You can choose from a huge number of Status Ideas for your Page and/or Group.

Automatically publish RSS feeds:

If you run a content blog and publish more than 5 articles a day, then automatic posting is the best option to save time, and Post Planner can easily achieve this goal. Post Planner allows you to automatically post your blog RSS feed to your page or group.

The setup part of this feature is very simple. You just select your page or group, add your feed URL, and you’re done.

Content Engine:

To build your specific expertise and brand on Facebook, it’s a good idea to share great content from other bloggers on your page. The content engine will help you discover new and popular content based on any keyword, and share/queue it with just one click. The best part is that the keywords you search for are saved and you can use them to find new content anytime.

Time zone specific updates:

Post Planner solves the most common problem with Facebook status updates, which is time zone differences. For example: If I want to post a "good morning" message on my Facebook page, I will post it at 8 am Indian Standard Time, but for countries outside India, the post time may be in the evening or afternoon.

This destroys personalization and your page becomes more country-specific rather than a global page. With Post Planner's automatic time zone conversion feature, when you schedule an update at 8am, it will be published at 8am local time in India, 8am local time in the US, and so on. You can find more information about this great feature here .

When you start using Post Planner, you will want to adjust some settings:

  • Default Page: Select the default publishing page. You can change it to any other page at any time.
  • Queue Time: You can set the time that your post will be queued. This saves you from having to manually set the time when scheduling your post. This is the same as buffering your posts on Facebook.
  • Make Lists: If you manage multiple pages and groups, this feature will make your Facebook automation easier and more fun.

Is the Post Planner worth buying?

Whenever I consider a paid app, my first question is: Is it worth my time and money, and is it worth recommending to ShoutMeLoud readers?

Post Planner is useful and worth the money. Some users have complained about support and cancellation issues recently (see comments below). Overall, a popular program can have 1-2 bad experiences every now and then, but it's worth a try for its low price of $6 per month. For this price, you can manage up to 3 social accounts.

For advanced features like advanced post automation, premium content, advanced analytics, etc., you can choose the “Solo” plan which costs $19 per month. In the Solo plan, you can manage up to 10 social accounts. Social media marketing companies can choose the Agency plan which includes a multi-brand option. You can view all plans and features here .

You can also try the pro version of this app for free by clicking the button below .

For bloggers with one or two pages, there is a free version for you to try.

For those who use Facebook pages and groups as a serious marketing tool, the SOLO plan is recommended.

How many of you use the Post Planner app? What features do you like about it?
