GoDaddy is one of the most popular brands in the domain name and web hosting market. There are many reasons for its popularity, and it has every reason to attract affiliate marketers to its high-paying affiliate program.
In this guide, I will share how to join the GoDaddy affiliate program and start making money.
GoDaddy used to have their own hosting affiliate program. They later shut down their hosting program and now work with Commission Junction to manage their affiliate program.
You can join any of the above mentioned platforms and sign up for GoDaddy affiliate program. In this guide, I will share the platform I use and my experience with it. GoDaddy offers are very attractive and you can easily earn good income.
Getting Started with the GoDaddy Affiliate Program
If you use CJ , you can search for GoDaddy directly in the Search Partners tab.

How to become a GoDaddy affiliate
First, let's discuss the requirements for joining the GoDaddy affiliate program.
Some affiliate programs have a lot of restrictions, but GoDaddy is very lenient. You only need to meet two conditions:
- 18 years and over
- Own your own website
Given that you're promoting hosting plans (and related services), having a website is a good idea anyway.
Once you've checked those boxes, you can move on to the next step: signing up to become a GoDaddy affiliate.
The GoDaddy Affiliate Program is powered by an affiliate network called CJ Affiliate (FKA Commission Junction).
Therefore, the registration process will differ depending on whether you are a CJ Affiliate Member or not.
If you already use Commission Junction, then it’s easy: just search for GoDaddy in the Advertisers section and click the button labeled “Apply to Join the Program” :
If you are not a CJ Affiliate user, things get a little more complicated.
First, you need to navigate to the GoDaddy Affiliate Program login page and click on the ‘ Join Now’ button:
Here you will see a simple registration form asking you to select your language and country, submit a verifiable email address, and create a password.
Next, go to your inbox and click the link in the CJ Affiliate email.
You will be asked to read and accept a series of terms and conditions and confirm that you are over 18 years of age and able to act on behalf of your company (if relevant).
Congratulations, you have created a Commission Junction account!
From here, you’ll be taken to an integrated dashboard that contains all of the various affiliate programs you can apply for, as well as all the tools you need to create affiliate links and track your performance.
But this is not the end of the process: you still need to tell CJ Affiliate about your website.
To do this, click the Account tab and select Network Profiles:
Here you need:
- Describe your business model, including your strengths, business goals, and relevant statistics about traffic or demographics.
- Discuss which channels and platforms you will use to promote GoDaddy and other CJ affiliate programs.
- Submit any relevant files, such as Google Analytics screenshots or a media kit.
Finally, return to the Account tab and select Manage settings , then add your tax information and payment details.
That's it!
Now you can proceed as we described at the beginning of this section: search for GoDaddy Affiliate Program and click Apply.
Expect to wait a few days to receive a response, after which you'll (hopefully) be able to start promoting GoDaddy right away.
What is GoDaddy's affiliate commission rate?
GoDaddy offers a one-time 10% commission on the following:
- Domain Registration
- Website Hosting
- Website Development Package
- Email Marketing Products
and a variety of other services, including Office 365 products and e-commerce solutions.
What is the length of the cookie provided by GoDaddy?
GoDaddy affiliate link tracking lasts for 45 days.
In other words, when you refer a client, they need to convert within 45 days if you want to earn a commission.
How does GoDaddy pay members?
The company offers three payment method options:
- Direct Deposit
- Check
- Payoneer (for affiliates outside the U.S.)
GoDaddy uses what Commission Junction calls a standard lock cycle , which means payments are locked on the 10th of each month.
So if you earn a commission in January, it will be locked in on February 10th (unless GoDaddy requests more time to review your transaction).
Once commissions are locked in, they are eligible to be paid in the next payment window.
Commission Junction has two payment periods:
- Approximately 20 days (all currencies)
- Approximately 28 days (payment in USD, GBP or EUR)
One more thing about payments: To receive your hard-earned commissions, your ending balance must reach the minimum amount set in your account.
For example, if your minimum payout is set to $100, then your closing commission balance must be at least $100 , otherwise your balance will be carried forward.
How to Make Money with GoDaddy Affiliate Program
We've already covered the details of how new members join the GoDaddy program.
Now, let’s look at a few strategies for making money as a GoDaddy affiliate.
Build an authoritative website
As we've already pointed out, you can't do affiliate marketing for GoDaddy unless you own a website.
So you might as well use your website to generate traffic and refer customers.

But if you don’t have a website yet, one of your first challenges will be to choose an affiliate marketing niche that is closely related to the products and services that GoDaddy sells. For example, niches could include:
- Digital Marketing
- technology
- sideline
- Entrepreneurship advice
Start Email Marketing
Email marketing isn’t actually a standalone money-making channel.
Why?
Because you need other channels to build your email list.
If you only send emails to your mom, you’re (probably) not going to bring in many sales.
Try building a piece of engaging content (like a white paper, video, or webinar) and offer it as a download on your website in exchange for people’s email addresses.
It takes a bit of work, but once it’s done, you can send all of your latest content straight to your audience’s inbox.
It’s definitely worth the effort, as email marketing delivers an average return of $44 for every $1 spent.

Start a YouTube channel
YouTube can be a great affiliate marketing channel if done right.

But as a quick primer, it’s basically creating content around products and services and then including affiliate links in your video descriptions.
Just remember to paste the links at the top of your description section so your viewers can find them easily.
